An interesting discussion occurred yesterday and yes, it did involve wine. The subject of the conversation had actually moved into cooking and the comment was made about there are really two types of cooks in domestic kitchens. One is the clean-as-you-go type and the other is the wait-until-you’re-done type and that “waiting” can sometimes extend well beyond the time following the meal. The table was split between the two types and it probably isn’t a surprise to anyone who follows this blog that I belong to the clean-as-you-go crowd. Hubby, left to his own preference, is the opposite although me scurrying behind him to keep things under what I consider control has caused him to somewhat modify his behavior. For those of us who grew up without a dishwasher, there was always the washing and drying and putting away parts too, but that has become somewhat easier with at least two meals worth of dishes usually able to be loaded. Not certain pots and pans of course and never the good kitchen knives.
I will also acknowledge that I hope one of our mutual funds includes manufacturers of foil because I use a lot of that and parchment sheets when I remember to buy them. Since foil works so well with wrapping leftover meat and pizza, and parchment paper is pretty much only for baking, foil has the priority. The one place though where hubby has put his foot down is the crockpot liners that I briefly tried. He understands the practicality of it, but doesn’t buy into it. Ah well, life is made up of compromises. So, readers, which category do you fall into?
