Okay, we are at the 90+% mark of the remodel and while it would be nice to have an actual end date, that can’t exactly happen. What we will have is a functioning home in which to live and entertain as we complete the final stages. Hopefully, it won’t be like the home improvement shows where the couple admits their last stages of a project has stretched out for months or years. The front exterior work is supposed to be completed tomorrow and one of the three absent furniture items is scheduled for delivery late today. One other furniture item could arrive tomorrow, although it will more likely be Monday.
That leaves us with new bars stools that are probably a week out and the new bistro table that hubby will design and build. It’s something very special so I can’t say too much about it yet because we aren’t totally sure that the design will work. There are also a few things in the backyard that haven’t happened yet and can’t until I have a chance to do a bit more on-line searching for one particular item. The garage situation is totally in hubby’s hands and he wants to get that done as quickly as he can since the summer dive season will be on us very soon. All the art has to be re-hung and that takes a chunk of time and the powder room needs to be repainted. It’s okay for the moment and we’ll fit that painting in before too long.
The master bath is the other major component, but that’s cosmetic as opposed to structural. We had already decided not to mess with it until after Labor Day. Even though my total budget can’t be closed out until we do that part, it doesn’t affect anywhere else in the house and there aren’t any problems with it. The simple fact is that from a stress management perspective, we have to take a break from this. I would rather wait a few months and do the master bath when we’re both more in the mood.
