I am truly trying to not be frustrated, but the cabinet situation has more of an impact than almost anything else at this stage. I say almost because, in reality, not having a functioning kitchen sink is also a major impact. So, in the realm of frustration, the cabinet guy did not make an appearance Tues or yesterday and won’t be here today, although we have promises that all will be completed by Friday. With the weather forecast, I have my doubts. That also probably means the vent hood can’t be installed until next week, but I can deal with that. If, and at this stage, I can only be so optimistic, if the cabinets are finished on Friday, that means I get to spend my Easter weekend unpacking boxes and putting things away. On the other hand, we aren’t big on Easter, so it isn’t as if we had serious plans. And we will have a functioning sink at the end of the day, which leans more to the positive side than the negative.
The entertainment center did arrive, and even though the configuration is different, I think all our books can fit into it. They won’t all be on display as they were with the open book shelves and that’s okay. It is definitely the largest piece of furniture in the house and is more “ornate” than the rest, but it’s not too over-the-top. We were waiting on its delivery to buy the new televisions because hubby wanted to make sure that the big new TV he will finally get will fit. The new one for the kitchen area will be wall mounted though for the true “flat panel” look. They’ll haul the old TV away when they bring the new ones.
The house is looking great, Charlie…it will be completely transformed from the way I remember it.
Thank you. It is different, although within the same footprint. We love the new colors and the bamboo floors give more of a sense of warmth than I expected. Of course I’ll still need a step stool, but that can’t be helped.
