While I often choose to stay in B&Bs or small inns, there can be drawbacks when you are also attempting to remain connected. As I previously mentioned, I really do think this will be my last trip without some sort of wireless supplement, whatever that turns out to be. The historic Branson Hotel is a lovely place with a variety of amenities that I will point out in a moment. Their WiFi, however, as in many such older places is dependent upon the room you are in and I happened to be in one where the signal wasn’t strong enough. With that said, the grounds and the rooms are very nice, the furnishings everything you want in a historic place. The hot water and water pressure are plentiful, too. The location is great; a very short walk through the historic Main Street to the Landings with all the shops, restaurants, and wonderful fountain display.
The staff here is knowledgeable and friendly and they have arrangements with one of the companies to get tickets to shows and have them delivered to the hotel. Their breakfast is European Continental, although they have a toaster for their pastries if you want to do that. They have a coffee, tea, and soft beverages station that is open 24 hours a day and these lovely cookies they leave out. There are multiple sitting areas on the covered porch and outside, to include an outdoor fireplace that I am sure is pleasant when in use.
B&Bs are not for everyone, but for those who enjoy them, I can happily recommend The Branson Hotel.
We keep trying to market our small inn totally modernized so this is a definite keeper in my files. Our small inn is often cited as the best value in the Volcano Region of Hawaii:
Volcano Hawaii Hotel Rooms, Lodges and Inns Best Alternative. However, to get it right for those who are used to large modern hotels is a continual project. We have a beautiful setting within a mile of the main volcano entrance.
Small inns and B&Bs are definitely the way for a segment of the market and finding those who appreciate them can be a struggle. We love the Big Island, although I have no idea when we’ll be back for another visit.

Michael’s sister and bro in law have a fairly large orchid operation, Pele’s Garden, on the Big Island at South Point. If you ever go back, I hope you can visit.
