Where Does That Go Now?……

Round Table Filled with Marine Life Sculptures

Round Table Filled with Marine Life Sculptures

Speaking of being in our final stages of the remodel, I have mentioned that there are a number of items that can’t go back into the same place where they were previously. We have a round slate table with a table top fountain that we dearly love. Prior to the movement of the dining room set into the section for the dining room, that was an extra seating area and the slate table sat beneath the large window with a combination of succulent plants, two herons, and marine life pieces to give the look of a coral reef. In a moment of digression, if you have never experimented with this look, it can be done indoors or outdoors for a really nice effect.

Okay, back to the rearrangement. The circumference of the slate table was not going to work with the positioning of the dining room table and several marine life sculptures had been displayed in a corner cabinet that also had to be moved to make way for the larger corner cabinet.  I moved the smaller corner cabinet upstairs, the slate table over close to the new entertainment center, and we moved some fish wall sculptures to above the table. We have a mix of high quality and ordinary marine life sculptures and I wanted the higher quality ones more visible. We also have a deep ledge on our windows that have enough room to display items. The large window in the dining area has one issue though and that is the east exposure where sun streams through. That was not a problem when the round table with succulents sat there. I had serious concerns about placing our higher quality sculptures on the ledge. I considered getting someone to come in with the window film that will cut down sun exposure, but I was reluctant to do that for a couple of reasons. Then I looked at the succulents on the round table that now had no direct sunlight available to them. It was time for an “Aha!” moment.

Move the succulents to the window ledge and all the marine sculptures to the table. Problem solved despite the fact that our “reef” has no “coral”. Then again, we don’t have to be overly realistic with this.
