The sound of whichever saw the guys are using means another day of progress. The door to the pantry goes up today, the frame to the new door of the master, and all the baseboards go in. That means with painting of the baseboards (we’ll be doing that), the furniture that will be delivered from storage on Thursday can be almost put back into place. The actual placement can’t occur until the baseboards are painted and that will depend on hubby’s schedule. However, even if the pieces are a few feet away, that means we only have to push them back. We haven’t bought the new televisions yet for because we want to have everything in place before we have them delivered and hooked up. We will be able to load up the pantry though and that means the area of the master closet and the upstairs linen closet serving as temporary pantries can be freed up.
If the counters get installed Friday as we hope, and if the cabinet guy can come Monday or Tuesday of next week, that opens the way for the sink, dishwasher, and kitchen-related electrical to be completed in one day after the cabinets go in. The additional electrical that we need will have to be worked in on a separate schedule, but that doesn’t affect our ability to put everything else back into place.
After today, we can also move the makeshift kitchen and dining room into the kitchen without interfering with the next steps and that will allow us to have a more normal “flow” of day-to-day activity. Not having a functioning kitchen sink does still restrict us, but we can be at, say the 60% mark of operating in regular manner.
